About the Role:
- Our client is seeking a capable Veterinary Surgeon to join a supportive small animal team in Hertford.
- The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload across consultations and surgery, demonstrate confidence with sole charge, and deliver high standards of patient and client care. At least two years of UK small animal experience and RCVS registration are required.
- Strong medical and surgical skills, good communication, and a calm approach to workload management will be expected.
- The rota offers flexibility with full or part-time options and alternate Saturdays. There are no out-of-hours or on-call duties, which supports work-life balance.
- Professional development is encouraged with a generous CPD allowance and funding towards certificates. Membership fees are paid, and there is a structured in-house career progression.
About the Package:
The benefits package includes a salary up to £60,000 p/a, reflective of skills and experience. 5.6 weeks’ holiday rising to 6.6 weeks after two years, an extra day off for a birthday, a contributory pension, wellbeing support, colleague assistance programmes, cycle to work, and staff discounts. About the Practice:
The practice is a modern, well-equipped small animal clinic with digital x-ray and an in-house laboratory. It operates within a busy retail setting that brings a diverse caseload and a loyal client base. The team currently comprises one permanent Vet with locum cover, two RVNs, two VCAs, and a receptionist. Clinical standards are supported by clear SOPs, a collaborative culture, and protected breaks.
