About the Role:

  • Our client is seeking a Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join an established farm team within a supportive multi-disciplinary practice.
  • The position offers a pure farm caseload across dairy, suckler, beef finishing, sheep, and camelids, with herds ranging from 30 to 1,100 cows.
  • Responsibilities will include herd health planning, fertility work, routine farm visits, emergency farm calls, and collaboration with lay TB testers.
  • The rota operates on a 1 in 4 out-of-hours schedule, with time off in lieu for weekend work.
  • Professional development is actively supported, with certificates and CPD encouraged to align with individual career goals.

About the Practice:

The practice operates purpose-built sites across the region with dedicated departments for small animal, farm, pig, poultry, and equine services. The farm team delivers consultancy, herd health, and fertility management, supported by an in-house laboratory and experienced colleagues, including certificate holders. Facilities and mobile resources enable routine, emergency, surgical, orthopaedic, diagnostic, and referral services. The team works within a structured environment that promotes knowledge sharing, clear progression, and a collaborative culture. New graduates will receive a buddy system to provide early career support, and all colleagues benefit from a comprehensive wellbeing offering and funded professional memberships.
