- Duties: Senior leadership of farm animal services, herd health planning, consultancy, mentoring, and OV work with participation in a 1:12 OOH rota shared with equine
About the Role:
- Our client is seeking an experienced farm animal Veterinary Surgeon to serve as Farm Animal Clinical Director or as a Farm Animal Clinical Lead, progressing with mentoring.
- The role will lead and shape farm veterinary services across beef, sheep, and dairy, setting clinical standards and driving a consultancy-led, proactive approach to herd health.
- Responsibilities will include service development, delivery of progressive herd health planning, and oversight of government OV work as Vet Services Manager.
- The postholder will collaborate closely with the Farm Practice Manager and the wider Clinical Director group, and will mentor colleagues, including ATT staff, vet techs, and junior vets.
- A flexible contract will be considered, with a choice of a 4- or 5-day working pattern and participation in an excellent 1:12 out-of-hours rota shared with equine.
- Candidates must be MRCVS with strong farm clinical skills, collaborative communication, and an interest in leadership and mentoring.
About the Salary and Benefits:
- The package will include a salary of £55,000–£70,000 p/a, refelctive of skills and experience
- Benefits include:
- Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, BVA),
- CPD allowance of £1,750 and 5 days or £2,500 and 8 days for certificate holders, and support for further certification and leadership training.

The practice is an RCVS-accredited mixed site serving West Cornwall with a 19-vet team providing 24/7 care across small animal, equine, and farm. It operates in-house emergency services for pets, horses, and livestock. The facility is well equipped with expanded in-house diagnostics and laboratory capabilities.
