About the Role:
- The client is seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join their experienced and growing team in Taunton, Somerset.
- The position is suited to a Veterinary Surgeon with a well-rounded skill set, capable of performing consultations and routine surgeries.
- The practice is open to candidates with varying levels of experience, provided they have prior exposure to small animal general practice.
- This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary of up to £65,000, dependent on experience.
The role offers:
- Fixed rotas tailored to team preferences, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
- Flexible hours, with a weekend rota of 1 in 6 weekends (Saturday 9 am-5 pm, Sunday 10:30 am-4 pm).
- 15-minute consultation slots and regular administrative time.
- Monthly practice and clinical team meetings.
- No out-of-hours responsibilities.

About the Practice:
The practice is a well-established and locally managed facility supported by a dedicated team of professionals. The veterinary team comprises five vets, including certificate holders in medicine and feline medicine, as well as a vet currently pursuing a certificate in surgery. The team also includes six Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) and two Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs), some of whom began their careers within the practice and completed their training there.
The clinical team benefits from the support of a dedicated business manager and a team of skilled receptionists. The practice values well-being and has two team members trained in mental health first aid. With strong ties to the local community, the practice fosters a close-knit and stable working environment.
