The client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join their independent, RCVS-accredited small animal hospital in Bedford. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary professional looking to work with a diverse caseload, including exotics, within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Working Pattern:
- Permanent position with full-time or part-time options.
- 3-5 days per week, offering flexibility to suit individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high standards of small animal veterinary care within a general practice setting.
- Manage a varied caseload, including exotic species, supported by modern facilities.
- Ensure continuity of care for patients from admission to discharge under a structured rota system.
- Contribute to excellent client service and a positive customer experience.
- Collaborate effectively with the clinical and wider practice team.

- Full registration with the RCVS and eligibility to work in the UK.
- A genuine interest in developing small animal general practice skills.

Salary and Benefits:
- Competitive salary up to £70,000+ per annum (FTE) reflective of skills and experience.
- VDS cover and RCVS annual renewal fees paid.

About the Practice:
The practice operates across three sites and is equipped with an in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and separate cat and dog wards. The team includes experienced veterinary surgeons, some with advanced practitioner certificates in Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, and Small Animal Medicine. The practice places a strong emphasis on professional, compassionate care and maintaining a positive team spirit. Regular staff training, journal clubs, and morbidity and mortality meetings foster ongoing development and collaboration.
