The client is seeking a confident and capable Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly and inclusive, RCVS-accredited small animal practice in Battersea. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive team environment, delivering high-quality care to patients alongside two RVNs, an SVN, and a VCA.
The practice is located in a vibrant community near Northcote Road and has served its loyal client base for over thirty years. The team prides itself on providing professional, friendly, and humane care.
The Role
– Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
– 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (9 am–1 pm) with a weekday off when worked.
– Shifts on a rota basis: 8:30 am–4:30 pm or 11 am–7 pm.
– No out-of-hours work.
– Salary up to £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
– Monitoring patients pre- and post-surgery, under anaesthetics and sedation.
– Administering drugs and injections.
– Preparing animals for surgery.
– Restraining and handling patients with a focus on their wellbeing.
– Cleaning kennels and surgical areas.
– Maintaining and sterilising surgical instruments and equipment.
– Performing diagnostic tests using in-house Idexx lab equipment.
– Assisting with x-rays.
– Admitting and discharging patients.
– Conducting nurse consultations and advising clients.
– Contributing to the growth of the Student Nurse and VCA.
– Answering phones in a busy practice.
– Working independently and collaboratively with the team.
About the Practice
The practice is equipped with modern facilities, including an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, and ultrasound. The team consists of six dedicated vets supported by an experienced network of nurses and administrative staff. Operating six days a week, the practice offers a diverse caseload and values continuous learning, providing regular in-house training and support for external courses.
