The Role:
- Position: OOH Emergency Veterinary Surgeon (Small Animal and Exotics).
- Shifts: Choice of 1 weekend on 3 weekends off (1:4) or 2 weekends on 2 weekends off (2:4).
- Hours: 08:00 – 19:00 Saturday and Sunday.
- Location: Louth, East Lincolnshire
- Sole charge required, with support available.
- Caseload includes stabilisation and critical care of inpatients, surgical and medical diagnostic/treatment procedures, and OOH consultations.
- The team works closely with the daytime practice and supports member practices across the East Lincolnshire area.
About the Role:
The client is seeking an experienced and confident Veterinary Surgeon to join their out-of-hours (OOH) emergency service in Eastern Lincolnshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a passion for Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) to work in a supportive, progressive team that values clinical excellence and work-life balance.
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have solid clinical judgment, a calm demeanour under pressure, and a keen interest in emergency medicine and surgery. Certificate holders (or those working towards a certificate) in ECC are encouraged to apply
What is Offered:
- Competitive salary packages: £12,000–£15,000/annum for the 1:4 rota and £24,000–£30,000/annum for the 2:4 rota.

- Access to advanced in-house diagnostic facilities, including Idexx haematology, biochemistry, urinalysis, coagulation profiler, EPOC, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, state-of-the-art ultrasound, ECG, Doppler, and anaesthetic multi-parameter monitoring.
- Overnight care of inpatients by a dedicated vet and veterinary nurse.
- RCVS, VDS, and approved professional memberships paid.
- On-site accommodation available as required.
- Support from a skilled and experienced nursing team.
