Veterinary Surgeon Opportunity on the outskirts of Portsmouth, Hampshire

The client is seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon to join a well-established team in the picturesque area of Portsmouth.

Role Details:

  • Average of 40 hours per week, working 4 weekdays until 19:00 and 1 in 3 Saturdays until 18:00.
  • No out-of-hours or on-call duties.
  • Emphasis on work-life balance, offering 1 weekday off per week, a pre-planned annual rota, and closure on Sundays.
  • At least 3 mornings of surgery weekly.
  • Combination of 15-minute and 30-minute appointments.
  • Active patient base: 67% canine, 27% feline, and less than 6% rabbit and exotic.
  • Regular veterinary meetings and allocated admin time.

Team and Support in Practice:

  • The practice boasts a dedicated team including 2 full-time vets, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs), 1 Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA), 1 RVN practice owner, and 4 receptionists.
  • The team is supported by two off-site clinical practice owners and four sister surgery clinical teams, totaling approximately 21 vets.
  • The practice encourages case collaboration and clinical discussions, though the role is permanently based at one location.
