Permanent Veterinary Surgeon – Halifax

Key Details:

• Working Days: 4–5 days per week, including 1 in 3 Saturdays
• Hours: Around 40 hours per week with a flexible rota
• Duties: Routine consultations and surgery with scope to develop interests; no OOH or Sundays

• The client is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a supportive small animal practice.
• The role suits a capable all-rounder confident with routine consultations and surgery who wishes to take the next step in their career. The rota is flexible and can be tailored.
• The post includes approximately 40 hours per week with 1 in 3 Saturdays and no out-of-hours or Sundays. CPD is encouraged, and certificates can be supported.
• The successful candidate will contribute ideas, support practice development, and work collaboratively with a strong clinical team.

About the Practice:

• The practice is a long-established, standalone small animal clinic with a strong local reputation and loyal client base. It benefits from an experienced leadership team and a stable workforce with low turnover. The clinical team includes an additional long-serving Veterinary Surgeon with extensive experience, as well as a nursing and care team comprising RVNs, VCAs, and SVNs.
• The practice offers a diverse range of treatments and receives referrals for advanced orthopaedic procedures through a peripatetic surgeon, including hip replacements and management of elbow dysplasia, patellar luxation, and cruciate ligament rupture. It also provides laparoscopic keyhole surgery and minimally invasive abdominal procedures supported by investment in training and equipment.
