The client is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join a dynamic team at a well-equipped practice in Bedfordshire. This role offers the chance to work alongside a supportive team of 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, an RVN Practice Manager, 4 Receptionists, and a Veterinary Care Assistant.

About the Role

  • The successful candidate will possess excellent all-around general practice skills, including surgical and medical expertise, and enjoy building relationships with patients, clients, and colleagues.
  • Confidence in sole charge responsibilities is essential, as is the ability to handle a variety of cases, including occasional orthopaedic procedures.
  • The team operates with a 50% surgical and 50% medical bias.

Hours:

  • The position is part-time, with working hours on Monday from 8:30 am to 8 pm, and 1:3 weekends on Saturday from 8:30 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.
  • Flexibility to discuss additional working days is available.
  • There is no out-of-hours requirement for this role.

The practice is conveniently located adjacent to the A1, providing easy access to Cambridge, Luton Airport, and direct train links to central London. The team includes a Veterinary Surgeon with a certificate in ophthalmology, ensuring a high standard of care. The practice supports continuous professional development and encourages team members to pursue individual interests and certifications.

The practice prides itself on its state-of-the-art facilities, including tonometry, ultrasound, a k laser, and digital x-rays, with alternative therapies such as acupuncture encouraged.
