- Working Days: Full-time, 40 hours per week with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
- Hours: Saturday mornings 9:00 am–12:00 pm, weekday hours aligned to a 40-hour week
- Duties: Predominantly surgery with consultations, case workups, and mentoring responsibilities
- Salary: The package includes a salary of £50,000–£70,000, dependent on experience, a contributory pension, paid RCVS and VDS memberships, generous CPD with certificate support, childcare vouchers, company discounts, and 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays for a 40-hour week.
About the Role:
- Our client is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a strong surgical bias to join a progressive small animal practice. The successful candidate will be confident in undertaking a broad range of surgical procedures and will ideally bring emergency and critical care experience.
- The role will include mentoring and supporting junior colleagues, contributing to a collaborative clinical culture, and developing cases to a high standard.
- The position is full-time, averaging 40 hours per week, with participation in a 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota. The practice supports professional growth with generous CPD and will consider funding a certificate.

The practice is a locally owned, community-focused small animal clinic with transparent pricing and clear communication on treatment options. The team provides estimates in advance and maintains value-driven fees. Facilities include a bright, air-conditioned surgery built to industry standards with digital X-ray, ultrasound, ECG, ultrasonic dental equipment, in-house biochemistry, microscope, and full surgical capabilities. The team comprises experienced vets, registered veterinary nurses, veterinary care assistants, and receptionists, led by a long-standing practice partner. The location offers excellent transport links, close to main A roads, within minutes of the M1 and Nottingham city centre.
