Key Details:

  • Working Days: Full-time over 4 days, part-time considered. Approximately 1 in 6 Saturday mornings.
  • Hours: 38 hours per week over 4 days. Saturday mornings 8:00 am–12:30 pm with TOIL or paid overtime.
  • Duties: A tailored mix of consulting, inpatient care, theatre, prep, and operating support. No OOH, no Sundays, no bank holidays.

About the Role:

  • Our client is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a supportive multi-site team. The role will include a balanced rotation across consultations, ward nursing, theatre assistance, and preparation, with scope to tailor duties to individual strengths.
  • The rota delivers work-life balance with no out-of-hours, no Sundays, and no bank holidays. One Saturday morning is worked approximately every six weeks, with additional hours paid or taken as time off in lieu.
  • This permanent post suits an RVN who values clinical variety, structured development, and autonomy within a well-organised hospital setting.
  • The starting salary is £26,000–£28,000 pro rata, with potential for negotiation for additional qualifications. CPD and further training are supported, including certificates appropriate to the role.

About the Practice:

The practice operates across two sites and is a nurse training environment with a strong clinical governance ethos. Facilities include an in-house laboratory, digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental X-ray, and laparoscopic equipment. The clinical team includes certificate holders in surgery, medicine, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, and analgesia, providing ready access to mentoring and case support. The caseload is varied, including laparoscopy and orthopaedic procedures, enabling broad skill development. The location offers strong transport links via the A1, M18, M62, and mainline rail.
