The client is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established practice, locally owned for over eight years. This role offers a supportive team environment, with funding towards certificates and the unique benefit of bringing your pet to work.
Job Description and Daily Operations
- Full-time opportunity, part-time would be considered.
- The clinic operates from 8am to 7pm on weekdays and 9am to 6pm on Saturdays, with no operations on Sundays.
- The Saturday rota is one in four, sole charge, consulting only.
- Vets are allocated one operations day per week, with the possibility of a consult-only role.
- Appointments are scheduled for 15-minute consults, with breaks every 4-5 consults.
- The practice prioritises timely departures with the last appointment at 6:45 pm.
- The clinic closes at 7 pm, followed by 30 minutes of protected time for calls and notes. Lunch includes a one-hour break with additional time scheduled for calls.

Candidate Profile:

The practice is based in the heart of the community and operates as a standalone site, serving a varied caseload with a high proportion of insured clients. It exclusively handles small animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small pets. The practice is equipped with modern facilities, including dental x-ray, laparoscopy, endoscopy, Kyon TPLO equipment, harmonic scalpel, and K-laser. It aims to keep most cases in-house but is located within 45 minutes of a quality referral hospital if needed. The practice encourages professional development with certificates funded, and has never turned down a request for CPD.
