Permanent Head Registered Veterinary Nurse

Location: Wandsworth, South London

About the Role:

  • The practice is seeking an exceptional Head Veterinary Nurse to provide clinical leadership and inspire the nursing team.
  • This permanent full-time position involves working five days a week with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings from 9 am to 1 pm.
  • There are no out-of-hours or on-call duties.

Duties:

  • The Head Nurse will lead a small team consisting of two Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs), one Student Veterinary Nurse (SVN), and one Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA).
  • Responsibilities include clinical leadership, in-house training, stock control, patient care, nurse consultations, and collaboration with the Practice Manager and Clinical Director.

Ideal Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate will be a confident and compassionate RVN with strong leadership skills.
  • They should have an interest in mentoring and developing the team, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage various situations effectively.
  • Prior Head Nurse experience is preferred, although experienced RVNs ready to advance their careers are welcome to apply.
  • A commitment to high standards of patient and client care is essential.

About the Practice:

The practice is a friendly, RCVS-accredited small animal clinic located in a vibrant community. Equipped with modern facilities including an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, and ultrasound, the practice operates six days a week and values continuous learning and development. Regular in-house training and support for external courses are provided.
